18 & 19 MAY 2022 | ONLINE COURSE
FINDING YOUR VOICE WITH YVONNE MAIER
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
A voice that sounds just right. That is full of nuances. Which is authentic. This is what we as actors and performers are striving for. We are in search for the right sound that fits the character, the scene, the play, and ourselves.
Voice and body work together: Everyone knows this moment when we lose our voice or when it sounds weird. Stress, exhaustion, tension, but also faulty technique can lead to trouble with our voice. In the long run these can also affect the health of our voice-organ, the larynx.
In this seminar you‘ll learn about the connection of body and voice, the role of your nervous system, your muscles, and fascia and why your own inner senses are so important. You‘ll learn about the anatomy and physiology of the larynx and neighbouring structures.
The method I‘m teaching is the Lichtenberger Method © which was developed at the „Lichtenberger Institute for applied voice-phyisology“ in collaboration with the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany (near Frankfurt). This method complements Yorgos‘ work at Physical Lab suprisingly well and therefore is of interest especially for actors and performers who are aquainted with Yorgos‘ method. But it is by no means a necessity.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Yvonne Maier, 1979, theatrepedagoge, Lichtenberger Method © voice teacher (Stimmpädagogin nach der Lichtenberger Methode ©), radiojournalist and radiohost in Munich, Germany.
I‘ve been working as a theatrepedagoge for more than 20 years and have been leading workshops for kids, teenagers and adults. Since 2013 I‘ve been learning from with Yorgos about his approach to theatre which has informed my voice work ever since and lead me to the Lichtenberger method ©.
A performer's voice is not only critical to what they do, it is also a vessel for bringing to life vivid and realistic characters. But before you find your character's voice, you must find your own. Join Yvonne Maier for this two-day online course and unlock new ways of using your voice via the Lichtenberger Method ©.
